Make GPAI model documentation a go-live gate, not a follow-up email
Article 53(1)(b) gives you a right to documentation from your GPAI model vendor. That right applies when you integrate their model into your own AI systems. Make that pack a go-live gate, not a follow-up email.
The bank may build a staff copilot, advice assistant, or any tool on a third-party general-purpose AI model. If it does, the model provider must keep and share Annex XII information. You need it to understand the model’s capabilities and limits. You also need it to meet your own AI Act duties.
Bake that deliverable into procurement. Review it before production. Refresh it when the model changes. Free open-source models can skip some of this paperwork. The exception is GPAI models with systemic risk. Those models stay fully in scope.
